Lufta

Lufta is an innovative and environmentally conscious chair featuring an inflatable design suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It is designed for those who value sustainability and environmental responsibility in furniture. Lightweight and portable, Lufta is ideal for both temporary and permanent use, while meeting the standards of conventional seating in the furniture industry. The chair consists of three main components: legs, a frame, and an inflatable cushion made from drop-stitch material. Its design combines a contemporary aesthetic with practicality and functionality. In the event of damage, only the affected component needs to be replaced, extending the product’s lifespan and reducing waste. Lufta has been developed by an interdisciplinary collective of three individuals with diverse backgrounds and expertise spanning architecture and product design to music, theatre, and digital technologies. At Center Rog’s production labs, the team will focus on researching and further developing three key components of Lufta: the legs in the Wood and Metal Labs, the frame in the FabLab, and the inflatable cushion made from drop-stitch material in the Textile Lab.
