Morning woodworking course for youth (2nd session)

Wood Lab invites young creators to a summer woodworking course. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, we will get to know how to work with real woodworking tools, use both manual and cordless tools, and learn basic woodworking operations.

Together, we will measure, saw, sand, screw, and assemble wooden elements. We will create four useful wooden products:

• a toolbox
• an insect hotel
• a small bench and a clothes hanger
• medals or various decorative items

Besides strengthening manual skills and fine motor coordination, participants will also develop independence in their work and an aesthetic sense. Young woodworkers will gain not only technical knowledge but also invaluable skills in teamwork and problem-solving within a group and given situations.

The summer woodworking school is intended for children aged between 10 and 15 years.

Duration: 4 sessions, 3 hours each

• Monday, August 4, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Tuesday, August 5, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Wednesday, August 6, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Thursday, August 7, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM

About the mentor:

The course will be led by Gal Žvab, a mentor at the Wood Lab and a wood engineering specialist, who also passes on his knowledge to younger generations as a teacher at a secondary woodworking school.

Participants are kindly asked to arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start time and gather in the entrance lobby of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which will be shown to you by the mentor.
Do not be late, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In case of tardiness, we unfortunately cannot guarantee access to the lab.

The program will be conducted in Slovene, unless stated otherwise.

If the course is canceled, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend, we do not offer refunds or rescheduling. However, you may transfer your spot to another person. In this case, please inform us at least 24 hours in advance by emailing: les@center-rog.si
