Kokedamas for Moms
22. 3. 2025

Kokedama is a centuries-old form of Japanese gardening art connected to the practice of growing bonsai. It consists of the plant's root system, bound with soft green moss and soil, which provide support and space for the plant's growth. This plant art, which can be hung or placed anywhere in your home as decoration, will be created in the Green Lab.
We will begin the activity with a conversation about the proper techniques for plant care. We will explore how often plants need watering, how much light they require, and how to maintain them, touching also on common issues and their solutions. In the second part, we will learn which houseplants can be transformed into kokedamas and how to prepare them.
The workshop is intended for children aged 7 to 12 who like to get their hands dirty and want to gift a blooming kokedama to their mothers for Mother's Day.
The workshop is part of the 17th Bobri Festival program and is therefore free of charge for participants.
