3D print of flexible animals

At this workshop, we’ll become real designers and create our own unique, flexible toy – from the first sketch to the final 3D-printed model. For example, a fish that swishes its tail or an octopus that waves its tentacles.

We’ll start by sketching our idea on paper and cutting it out of cardboard to make our first prototype. Then, using a special program powered by artificial intelligence designed for creating flexible toys, we’ll turn our sketch into a digital 3D model. Once ready, we’ll print the model with a 3D printer.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll boost our creativity, logical thinking, and technical skills. We’ll explore the entire design process – from hand drawing to digital modeling to a physical object. The flexible parts of our toy, such as a fish’s tail or an octopus’s tentacles, will be printed in one piece, so the toy will be functional right after printing, without any gluing or assembling.

Since 3D printing takes some time, the models might not be finished during the workshop. In that case, participants will be able to pick up their completed creations later at FabLab.

About the mentor

The workshop will be led by Nuša Jurkovič, mentor at FabLab.

Participants are asked to gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers provided by the mentor. Please arrive on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workshop. In case of delay, we unfortunately cannot guarantee entry to the lab.

The program is conducted in Slovenian, unless stated otherwise.
If the workshop is canceled, participants will be notified two days in advance.
Participation fees are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled. However, you may transfer your spot to another person by notifying us at least 24 hours before the start of the program at: fablab@center-rog.si.
