"Public call for the new generation of project studio users at Center Rog concluded

As part of the public call JRStudio 3, published on February 25, 2025, we received 24 applications. Based on the call criteria, the committee reviewed 20 complete applications and invited 12 applicants to the second round.
The expert committee has granted free use of the project studios to eight individuals and/or collectives working in the fields of product and fashion design, engineering, and applied arts:
- Miha Dernovšek, Iman Šemič, Nejc Vrčon Zupan, and Vid Kreča will develop a sustainable harness and plate carrier for professional use in the outdoor industry within the Foray Equipment project.
- Elvis Halilović, through his project Ondu Pinhole, will continue his practice of combining natural materials with contemporary design by developing a large-format camera.
- JSP Kolektiv will create timeless, handcrafted garments from deadstock materials for all genders with their WO/MAN collection.
- Nina Savič, in her project MANČMELOU, will develop modular 3D-printed components for lamp restoration and the reuse of glass shades.
- Dragan Hristov, with the project LUDUS Contemporary Artisanal, will merge traditional crafts and modern technologies in a sustainable fashion collection using natural dyeing, recycling, and handmade accessories.
- Matej Komel, through Mandrak Guitars, will develop an innovative guitar with improved ergonomics, quick neck replacement, and optimized acoustics.
- Hana Klincov and Nej Bizjak, in their project Mycosurf, will create sustainable surfboards made from mycelium and agricultural waste as an eco-friendly alternative to styrofoam.
- Mateja Žugman will transform recycled materials and Murano glass into aesthetically refined fashion accessories for conscious and responsible consumption.
The selected studio users will begin their creative work at Center Rog in two residency phases: September 2025 and January 2026.
The project studios at Center Rog are intended for circular use over a limited time period (from 1 to 3 years, depending on project complexity) and can be used free of charge based on an open call application. Key selection criteria include the social and environmental value of the proposed product, its level of innovation, and a demonstrated need for access to the Center’s production workshops. In addition to individual workspaces, users also have access to all nine community production labs, dedicated to prototyping, experimentation, unique production, and small-scale manufacturing.
The next open call for project studio use is expected to be published in November 2025, with move-in available from March 2026. We warmly invite all those who wish to co-create the future of design, innovation, and sustainable development at Center Rog.
