BIG Design Ljubljana: CELEBRATING CREATIVITY
From 9 to 11 October, Center Rog in Ljubljana will host BIG Design Ljubljana for the first time. As the biggest design event in Slovenia, the festival brings together leading names in product and interior design from across South East Europe and beyond. The event is open to professionals, students, and the wider public, showing that design is not reserved for a narrow circle but is part of everyday life, shaping how we live, work, and connect.
“This is a celebration of creativity. The festival is meant for professionals, students, and the wider public — for everyone who values quality, beauty, and functionality,” says festival founder Zmago Novak.
The three-day programme features the Design Unveiled trade show, lectures, debates, and a forum on design’s future. This year’s conference highlights the theme Common Sense as Balance: Designing What Matters, complemented by discussions on artificial intelligence in product design, entrepreneurial hybrids, and the role of regional identity in shaping global impact.
The evenings will highlight the Slovenian Design Awards on 9 October and the international BIG SEE Grand Prix Awards on 10 October. Both ceremonies are followed by the SEEnergy parties, turning the evenings into a blend of celebration, networking, and leisure.
Throughout the festival, exhibitors will present their products and ideas, giving visitors the chance to explore innovations and meet the creators behind them.
The festival concludes on Saturday, 11 October, with the final opportunity to experience the trade show and discover design from the region and beyond.
