Who is the retreat for?

Rog Craft Retreat is for all curious, creative people looking for a meaningful week of hands-on making. It is a perfect fit for:

  • beginners who want an inspiring introduction to ceramics and jewellery design and making
  • creatives, designers, and makers who want to step out of their usual routine or deepen their know-how with the help of our professional mentors
  • travellers looking for a cultural experience built around craft and on-site accomodation
  • anyone who wants a slower, more hands-on week in the inspiring environment of a creative hub in the heart of Ljubljana, Slovenia

If you enjoy working with materials, learning through process, and being part of a small creative community, you will feel right at home here.

Why join the Rog Craft Retreat?

Because creative work needs the right conditions: time, space, focus, materials, guidance, and a real change of pace. Our Rog Craft Retreat offers: time away from everyday routine, hands-on work in ceramics and jewellery design, guidance from experienced mentors, a small and personal group setting, accommodation in Center Rog’s residential apartments, and a curated programme of local visits and experiences in Ljubljana. This retreat is designed to help you slow down, create with intention, and reconnect with the pleasure of the creative process.

Small-group experience

This is not a fast-paced course with an overfilled schedule, and it is not a standard tourist package. Rog Craft Retreat is a carefully curated small-group experience for people who want time, guidance, and space to make something beautiful with their own hands. Over one week, you will live and create at Center Rog — Ljubljana’s new creative hub — work in the ceramics and jewellery labs, and experience the city through craft, culture, and a slower rhythm.

What you will do

Throughout the retreat, your time will move between guided making, independent studio time, and discovering Ljubljana’s creative atmosphere.

A day at Rog Craft Retreat

Days at the retreat follow a calm, balanced rhythm that combines focused making with time to explore and slow down.

Mornings begin gently, with breakfast and the option of a quiet walk — either through the city streets or in nearby green areas such as Rožnik or Golovec hill. The day then shifts into hands-on work in the labs, where you spend several hours developing your pieces in ceramics or jewellery. Guided sessions are led by experienced mentors, offering both technical support and space for your own ideas to evolve.

After a long, unhurried lunch break, the afternoon continues at a softer pace. This is a time for independent making, refining your work, or simply staying in the studio flow with mentor support nearby. On selected days, the program opens beyond Center Rog with visits to local studios tucked away in the narrow streets of the old city, where you meet designers and gain insight into different creative practices.

Evenings are intentionally relaxed. Some are left free, while others include shared moments such as a group dinner, cooking together in our Food Lab, or informal conversations. Throughout the week, the rhythm allows for both focus and pause—giving you time not only to create, but also to connect with the process, the place, and the people around you.

Meet your mentors

The retreat is guided by experienced mentors from Center Rog’s ceramics and jewellery labs. Anja Radović is a designer working across ceramics, glass and sculpture, with a practice grounded in material exploration and spatial thinking. Her work combines a design approach with a sensitivity to form, texture and process. She studied Applied Arts and Design (Glass and Ceramics) and completed her postgraduate studies in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. She currently works at Center Rog as a project manager for the exhibition program and as a mentor in the ceramic and glass lab.

Anja Radović works in ceramics, glass and sculpture and will be one of your mentors.

Dalija Sega is head of the Jewellery Lab. She is a contemporary jewellery designer whose work is rooted in a sculptural approach. Her pieces function as small-scale sculptural objects, often crafted in silver or gold and inspired by nature, organic structures and material exploration. She studied sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana and today works as Head of the Jewellery Lab at Center Rog, where she mentors emerging designers and leads workshops in contemporary jewellery making.
