Makers in Residency 2026
This year’s edition of the Makers in Residency programme is particularly special, as it takes place as a group residency for the first time. International creators are collaboratively developing a shading structure for the Park of the Erased through a collective, hands-on process. Urban overheating is one of the most tangible consequences of climate change, making shade an essential element in city environments. The residents initially developed the project remotely and are now refining it during a ten-day creative process in the production labs of Center Rog. Through hands-on design and making, they explore how open-source and replicable solutions can contribute to greater community resilience to current climate challenges. The final outcome of the residency will be published under a Creative Commons license, allowing for free use, adaptation, and further development in different contexts. We will present the project to the Center Rog community on Saturday, 6 June 2026, as part of Neighbours’ Day. Selected participants of Makers in Residency 2026: Mariia Prianichnikova (Romania), Paolo Zanchetta (Italy), Anastácia Moreira (Portugal), Carolina Fontes (Portugal), Gonçalo Martins (Portugal), Sara Cherry (Portugal), Suada Čamdžić (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
