Let's Spin, Let's Revive!

Have you ever played a vinyl record and danced along? A unique optical toy called a PHONOTROPE is made using a turntable – the ancestor of many modern music players. By drawing on vinyl records, you could watch the drawings come to life as they spin. But how can we see the drawings when they rotate so quickly? The technical secrets of this fascinating animation device will be unveiled in a workshop organized in collaboration with the Animateka Animated Film Festival. With the help of mentors and available tools, each participant will create their own phonotrope and craft a short spinning animation.
