Following the tradition passed down by our grandmothers, who taught traditional weaving, crocheting, and knotting techniques, Urška Sadar, an architect and designer, has developed a unique approach to combining tradition with modern technologies. If you want to try your hand at knotting and creating unique textile jewelry, join us in Rog for a one-day workshop with Urška Sadar, organized for all aspiring creators.

We will use materials that are waste from textile production, combining traditional hand skills with the latest technologies. Before the workshop, we will prepare 3D-printed closures/buckles for the jewelry in various colors. During the workshop, we will also print some more closures to familiarize participants with the process, and you will have the chance to choose your color. Using traditional hand techniques, you will create your own jewelry. We will introduce you to weaving, crocheting, and finger knotting techniques. You will be able to make several pieces of jewelry of your choice. The final result will be multiple pieces of unique handmade jewelry with a 3D-printed buckle.

This workshop is aimed at all adults and teenagers (14 years and older) interested in combining traditional textile techniques with modern technologies and who wish to learn hand techniques for weaving and knotting to create textile jewelry. This is an excellent opportunity!

About the Mentors:

The workshop will be led by Urška Sadar, an architect, fashion, and textile designer, and a master of combining traditional crafts with modern technologies.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

The program is intended for participants older than 14 years, except where noted otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: tekstil@center-rog.si
