Wooden holiday tree

At the workshop, we will create a unique wooden holiday tree that will brighten up your home during the upcoming festive season. You can reuse this tree every year, and each time you can paint or decorate it a little differently so it shines in a new look.

The workshop is intergenerational and intended for (grand)parents with children aged 8 to 14 who would like to spend a pleasant creative morning together while learning the basics of hand wood-processing. The workshop fee is per participant. No prior knowledge is required—just good spirits and a desire to create together.

Step by step, we will make our own wooden tree:

• saw wooden slats into pieces of the appropriate lengths,
• drill a hole in the center of each slat for a threaded rod,
• stack the slats on the rod to form a tree shape,
• saw and glue together four squares of different sizes to make the stand,
• sand the final product and paint or decorate it if you wish.

What we will learn:

• the basics of hand wood-processing (sawing, drilling, gluing, sanding),
• safe use of basic hand tools,
• understanding how to assemble an item made of multiple parts.

Goal and outcome:
You will take home your own wooden holiday tree, which you can proudly display at home or give as a personalized festive gift.
No prior experience is needed to participate.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled start time in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store your personal belongings in the lockers, which the mentor will show you. Please be on time, as late arrivals disrupt the workflow. In the case of a delay, entry to the lab cannot be guaranteed.

The program will be conducted in Slovenian unless stated otherwise.

In case of cancellation, you will be notified two days before the scheduled start.

If you are unable to attend the program, the registration fee is non-refundable, and it is not possible to change the date. You can transfer your participation to another person, but please notify us at least 24 hours before the program begins at the email address: les@center-rog.si
