Two-Day Workshop on Clay Shaping and Glazing

During the workshop, we will explore the entire process of creating ceramic pieces, from the initial idea to the final firing.

Duration: 8 hours, 2 sessions of 4 hours each

Dates: March 14th and 28th, from 4 pm to 8 pm

On the first day, we will focus on getting to know different types of clay and their characteristics. We will explore how each type of clay behaves during shaping and how we can use this knowledge in our creation process. Then, we will learn the pinch technique, which is one of the most basic techniques of clay shaping. Using this technique, we will create several small pieces, such as cups, saucers, or decorative items. Everyone will have the opportunity to personally decorate, texture, and color their creations.

On the second day, we will bring our pieces to life with colors. We will learn the technique of painting with underglaze colors and how they interact with clay and glaze. We will also learn how to use special pencils designed for drawing on ceramics, adding an extra dimension to your pieces. The day will conclude with glazing; we will explore different types of glazes and techniques for applying them, giving our creations their final appearance and protection.

The workshop is open to anyone interested in the process of creating ceramics, regardless of whether you are a beginner or have some experience. We will cover the entire process of making ceramic pieces, enabling further exploration and creation in the world of ceramics.

The workshop will be conducted by the collective of Biskvit Studio.

Participants should gather 5 minutes before the agreed-upon time in the entrance hall of Center Rog.

The workshop will be conducted with a minimum of 6 registrations. In case of non-execution, you will be notified at least two days before the start of the program.
