Svetlobna gverila is an international festival organized by Forum Ljubljana, dedicated to exploring the art of light in public space. Since 2007, the festival has fostered creativity at the intersection of visual and intermedia art, design, and architecture, introducing temporary artistic interventions that transform the experience of the urban environment.

Each edition of the festival follows a specific theme that guides the selection of artworks and encourages reflection on light as a tool for communication, expression, and spatial transformation. Under the 2026 theme Diversities, two light installations will be co-produced and presented in Park izbrisanih.

  • Chi-yung Wong, Tower of Light

The light installation Tower of Light by Chinese artist Chi-yung Wong will be presented on the eastern side of Park izbrisanih. This monumental installation measures over five meters in width and 4.7 meters in height. It offers an innovative exploration of light as a transformative artistic medium, shaping ideas and redefining spatial experience. The work combines architectural design, natural materials, and projection techniques enhanced through creative programming. It brings together artistic depth and technological precision, focusing on a conceptual narrative of time and water as fundamental forces of change. Drawing inspiration from Ljubljana’s strong connection to water and its river, the installation reflects on the evolving relationship between humans and nature.

  • Camila Mejía & Erik Walz, Rooted Light

The light installation Rooted Light is the work of German artists Camila Mejía and Erik Walz. The project merges art and science in an exploration of the relationship between nature, technology, and perception. Through a light, sound, and spatial installation, biomorphic abstractions emerge, revealing hidden processes of the natural world. By intertwining digital and analogue materials, the work addresses ecological fragility and invites the audience to reconsider humanity’s role within nature.
