Design for Makers – 3D Modeling in Onshape

The course program is specifically designed for makers and creators who want to enter the world of 3D modeling without expensive software or complex setups. Onshape is a professional platform that works in any web browser – no installation required and completely free.

In this course, you will learn how to independently create a digital product design – from the initial sketch to technical drawings and preparation of files for laser cutting or CNC machining. By the end of the course, each participant will complete their project with ready-to-use documentation for production.

You will also learn:

• The Onshape workspace
• How to manage and save projects
• Creating your own parts library
• Using the Sketch function (drawing, constraints, dimensions, features)
• Using the Frame (frameworks/constructions) and Sheet Metal functions (modeling sheet metal products)
• Creating technical drawings and parts lists
• Principles of solid (volumetric) modeling

Who is this course for?

The course is aimed at beginners, makers, craftsmen, designers, students, and anyone who wants to transfer their ideas into a digital format for production. No prior knowledge is required.

Time: 17:00–20:00

Mentor:

The course will be led by mentors from the Metal Lab at Center Rog, who have extensive experience in 2D and 3D design, preparing production documentation, and operating machines such as laser cutters, CNC machines, and plasma cutters.

Payment in Two Installments:

Courses costing more than €100 can be paid in two installments. Payment in two installments is possible in the “Made in Rog” shop or via bank transfer with a proforma invoice if you contact tajnistvo@center-rog.si.

Participants should gather 15 minutes before the scheduled session in the entrance hall of Center Rog. Please store personal belongings in the lockers provided by the instructor. Punctuality is essential, as late arrivals may disrupt the workflow. Entry to the workshop cannot be guaranteed in case of lateness.

The program is conducted in Slovenian unless otherwise indicated.

If the course is canceled, participants will be notified at least two days before the planned start date.

Participation fees are non-refundable, and rescheduling is not possible. Attendance can be transferred to another person, but please inform us at least 24 hours before the start of the course at: kovina@center-rog.si.
