Personalized 3D tripod stool (in Slovenian)
21. 5. 2026
In the workshop, we will create our own functional stool by working with pre-prepared wooden elements, legs, and a seat plate. Our main focus will be designing and producing a personalized 3D-printed connecting joint between the stool legs and the seat. Under expert guidance, we will go through the entire process: from sketching and conceptual development, through 3D modeling and printing, to assembly, painting, and surface finishing. By the end of the course, each participant will have created a functional and aesthetically refined tripod stool with a custom 3D-printed connector, ready for use.
In the workshop we will:
- learn the basics of stool construction and different types of joints;
- develop a concept and sketch ideas for our own connecting element;
- 3D model a custom or adapted connector;
- prepare models for 3D printing, including orientation and supports;
- post-process 3D-printed parts (cleaning, sanding) and apply surface finishing/painting;
- assemble the stool, connect legs and seat, and test stability;
- experiment with customization and design personalization.
