At the course, we will learn all the key woodworking processes and, under expert guidance, create our own perfect frame from solid wood. Across two sessions, we will safely use professional woodworking machines for the first time, taking the project from raw material to finished product. The final result will be a frame ready to mount your photograph or artwork in any size up to A3 format.

The workshop is suitable for beginners, as it guides us through all steps — from planning dimensions to final surface finishing — while also providing practical skills that can be used in other woodworking projects.

During the workshop, we will:

  • learn basic wood preparation processes: planing, thicknessing, cutting, smoothing, routing, and joining;
  • master the safe and correct use of a planer, circular saw, and table router;
  • plan the frame dimensions and create a technical sketch and cutting list;
    route a decorative profile and a groove for the photograph or plexiglass;
  • cut the wooden strips at a 45° angle and glue the frame together;
  • prepare the backing and plexiglass and perform basic sanding and surface finishing;
  • understand basic frame geometry, gluing and clamping techniques, and dimension adjustments for the final product;
  • create a fully functional wooden frame ready for personal use.

After completing the course, participants will confidently be able to make a solid wood frame, understand the full woodworking process, and gain practical skills applicable to other wood-based projects.
