Jewelry made from recycled silver [10.2.]
10. 2. 2024

If you possess old, unused, or damaged silver jewelry and are unsure of what to do with it, we have collaborated with designer Martina Lončar, who honed her jewelry design and crafting skills at prestigious schools in Milan and Florence. Together, we have organized a workshop on creating jewelry from recycled silver.
During the workshop, the mentor will first introduce you to the physical characteristics of silver and the technique of casting into cuttlefish bone. Subsequently, you will choose a pre-made wax and/or 3D-printed ring that will be used to create a mold. The process will involve melting the silver and casting it into the prepared molds. After the metal is whitened, we will fire the casting channels and complete the ring.
If you have old, unused, or damaged silver jewelry at home, please bring it with you, as we will melt it down. Jewelry with stones and other embellishments is also acceptable, as these can be removed. In case you do not have your silver, you can purchase it from the mentor during the workshop for €10.
Participants are expected to assemble 5 minutes before the agreed-upon time in the entrance hall of Center Rog.
The workshop will proceed with a minimum of 4 registrations. In the event of non-execution, participants will be notified at least two days before the program's commencement.
Please note that workshop fees are non-refundable, and rescheduling is not possible. Transfer of workshop participation to another person is feasible; however, kindly inform us at least 24 hours before the start via email at info@center-rog.si.
