Material Playroom
5. 9. 2026
In the Material Playroom, we collect a colourful range of materials used in our labs that no longer have direct practical value in production processes. Pieces of fabric, cardboard textile tubes, small pieces of wood and plywood, leftovers from laser or CNC cutting, metal offcuts, failed 3D-printing experiments, ceramic semi-finished pieces and other materials become the starting point for free exploration with unstructured materials.
Play is a child’s natural way of learning, exploring and expressing themselves. Unstructured materials allow children to freely test, build, take apart and discover new possibilities. In this way, they develop imagination, creativity, independent thinking and confidence, while learning to solve challenges in their own way — spontaneously, openly and with plenty of curiosity.
The Material Playroom is prepared in collaboration with the Mala ulica Family Centre. At the beginning, we will get to know the materials and their properties together, warm up, and then dive into exploring, building, testing and discovering what can be made from them.
The Material Playroom is intended for families with younger children, aged 10 and under. You can come as a parent–child pair or as a whole family. Parents or guardians must be present throughout the programme.
