Plus One Collective: An exhibition of contemporary enamel in jewelry
While strolling along Petkovškovo Embankment, don’t miss the exhibition by the Plus One Collective in the jewelry lab display. Selected pieces of enameled jewelry will be on view until February 20, 2026.
The enamel Collective, ‘Plus One’ in its sixth edition for 2025, has in the past six years exhibited thirty-two artists from seven different countries. The artists vary greatly in their technical training, occupations and their approach to the medium of enameling; working with techniques ranging from classical cloisonné, champleve, sifting, experimental, decals and utilizing the incorporation of newer technologies such as laser engraving in the enamel. Each artist is a dedicated maker pursuing their own voice and style within the field of enamel and metalsmithing and at times incorporating other materials.
The Collective itself has no explicit theme other than ‘enamel,’ allowing for each artist to submit pieces that speak most clearly to their individual style and the direction their work is headed. Each year the artists are asked to submit three to five pieces, from which two to three works are selected to be exhibited. This intentional absence of an overarching theme, allows for an exhibition that offers the audience a full range spectrum of what is possible with enamel. The curator of the exhibition is Jennifer Wells, an artist and educator from the USA.
